Founding Fine Arts Teacher
This role is responsible for creating a structured, inclusive classroom environment where middle school students are intellectually curious, engaged in meaningful discourse, and held to high academic expectations. The teacher designs and delivers a rigorous Arts curriculum that covers fine arts fundamentals, global art history, and world techniques, framing art as a powerful medium for thought and social activism. Responsibilities include developing unit plans horizontally aligned with Elm’s Humanities and STEM frameworks, providing targeted small-group literacy instruction, and using ongoing assessment data to meet the diverse needs of all learners, including students with special needs and emergent bilinguals. The role also includes leading an advisory (Crew) group to foster social-emotional growth and identity development, supporting daily school operations and duties, and engaging in continuous professional development and coaching. Through proactive collaboration with staff and consistent, culturally responsive communication with families, the teacher cultivates a joyful learning culture and deep student rapport. Additional duties and responsibilities may be assigned as needed to support student success and the overall mission and operations of the school.
- Hold certification in Secondary Education;
- Master’s Degree in Education with a specialization in secondary childhood or grades 5-9 preferred;
- Majored in the content-specific subject is highly preferred;
- Minimum of 2 years teaching experience in elementary education, preferably in urban education;
- Demonstrated ability in adapting curriculum and lessons to various student needs;
- Strong background and demonstrated experience in arts education preferred.
- Demonstrated experience in producing shows and / or showcases in their respective field preferred;
- Minimum of 1 year experience in interdisciplinary studies and inquiry-based learning preferred.
Founding Spanish Teacher 2026-27
This role is responsible for creating a structured, inclusive classroom environment where middle school students are intellectually curious, engaged in meaningful discourse, and held to high academic expectations. The teacher designs and delivers a rigorous Spanish curriculum that prioritizes verbal communication and integrates the history, culture, and social movements of Spanish-speaking countries into inquiry-based lessons. Responsibilities include developing curriculum units horizontally aligned with Elm’s Humanities and STEM frameworks, providing targeted small-group literacy instruction, and using ongoing data analysis to meet the diverse needs of all learners, including students with special needs and emergent bilinguals. The role also includes leading an advisory (Crew) group to foster social-emotional growth, supporting daily school operations and duties, engaging in continuous professional development, and maintaining proactive, culturally responsive communication with families. Additional duties and responsibilities may be assigned as needed to support student success and the overall mission and operations of the school.

Founding Interventionist (Special Education Certified) 2026-27
This role focuses on creating a positive, inclusive classroom culture where students are excited about learning through inquiry-based instruction, strong classroom management, and meaningful relationships. The teacher adapts curriculum and assessments to meet diverse learner needs, designs data-driven lesson plans and targeted small-group instruction (including push-in and pull-out interventions), and collaborates with grade-level teams to differentiate instruction for at-risk students. Responsibilities include monitoring student progress toward academic and IEP goals, documenting and tracking IEP progress, providing timely feedback, and partnering with school leadership to develop rigorous curriculum that prepares students for assessments. The role also includes leading an advisory (Crew) group to support students’ social-emotional development, engaging in ongoing professional development, collaborating with colleagues, and maintaining regular communication with families. Additional duties and responsibilities may be assigned as needed to support student learning and the overall mission and operations of the school.
- Holds certification in Special Education or TESOL (1-6);
- Master’s Degree in Education with a specialization in elementary or middle school education highly preferred;
- Minimum of 4 years teaching experience in middle school education, preferably in urban education;
- Demonstrated ability in adapting curriculum and lessons to various student needs;
- Minimum of 1 year experience in interdisciplinary studies and inquiry-based learning preferred.
Founding Interventionist (ENL : TESOL Certified) 2026-27
This role is responsible for fostering a positive, inclusive classroom culture where students are engaged, challenged, and excited about learning through inquiry-based instruction and strong classroom management. The teacher adapts and implements curriculum and assessments to meet diverse student needs, designs data-driven lessons and targeted small-group interventions, and collaborates with grade teams to differentiate instruction for at-risk students. The role includes monitoring and assessing student progress toward academic and IEP goals, documenting progress, providing timely feedback, and partnering with leadership to develop rigorous, standards-aligned curriculum that prepares students for assessments. In addition, the teacher leads an advisory (Crew) group focused on social-emotional growth and community building, actively collaborates with colleagues, participates in ongoing professional development, and maintains consistent communication with families.
